It’s hard to believe that it’s already that time of the year! It’s time to Run Wild!! Many of you may already be aware of our biggest fundraiser for the African Children’s Project, the Run Wild 5K and Wild Child Fun Run this Saturday. 2014 is our 3rd year for this amazing day. The RW5K doesn’t have to just be a “run and done” event because we offer the Wild Child 1 mile run for the kids, a vendors fair with great local companies, and an array of activities for the kids! It is a great morning for families to get out, get moving, and enjoy time together!
In the Run Wild’s first two years, generous sponsors, churches and individuals have contributed more than $50,000 for the African Children’s Project. If you’re local, the 5K begins at 8 a.m. and the Fun Run follows at 9 a.m. In addition to race awards, the Run Wild always has an amazing list of giveaways from local restaurants and businesses.
We know that many of you are planning on attending this event and for that we are so thankful. We are so proud of many of our friends and family that have committed themselves in preparing these last few months to running this race, and for many of them it will be their first 5K! Way to go guys! We are cheering you all on in our hearts!!
Our thoughts will be with all of the volunteers, runners, and families participating on Saturday! We also know that many of our friends are not living in the Lake Norman area, so we wanted to let you know that you can still be a part of this amazing day! This is the 2nd year that the race is offering a “Spirit runner” option for those that are not able to physically be racing. A spirit runner can register for the race and not even be in the same state! And with your registration, you are helping the orphans! So, whether you are physically able to attend this great event or you’ll be joining in spirit (like us!), it will be a great day for taking care of orphans.
Online registration closes at 5 p.m. THIS Thursday (registration will be available on site the morning of or through Omega Sports Huntersville on Friday)! Visitwww.irunwild.org to register or for additional information.
