Did you think we got lost? Sorry it has been a long time since our last update. There just hasn’t been much to give you as an update…until NOW!
It has been a long time coming. We have waited for nearly a year for this piece of paper I’m holding. There is a long story behind it all. But long story short, we needed to have an official registration in-order to start as a children’s home in Kenya. Because of that, we have been at a bit of a stand-still in moving forward with the project. But we have done our best to stay busy getting ready for the children to come in the house.
We have hired Kellen as our social worker. She has been helping me to prepare the proper documents and policies we need for the district children’s department so that we are ready when the time comes. Kellen has also been visiting some local villages, looking for children we may take into the home.
We also have been Feathering the Nest! We are so thankful for everyone who gave to help us Feather the Nest. We now have the house fully furnished and ready to go for our first family of orphans. Take a tour with our cool (and super cute) kids.
Now that we have this certificate of registration, we will be advertising the job position for our house parents and conduct interviews soon there-after.
We are also planning on having our official “opening ceremony” around the middle of April. After that day, we will be ready to take in our very first orphan.
It has been a bit difficult for us the past couple of months waiting and praying for this certificate, but we are rejoicing that now we are able to get started!
Thank you for your prayers and support!
